League of Legends organization Unicorns of Love have signed a sponsorship deal with condom brand Billy Boy.
The deal includes an ad spot on the Unicorns of Love neon pink uniforms.
Billy Boy will also be teaming up with Unicorns of Love outside of the game to promote safe sex to the team’s fans.
UoL and Billy Boy condoms are both based in Germany.
Unicorns of Love CEO Jos Mallant spoke to Esports Observer about the deal.
“It is a great sign that a brand as famous as BILLY BOY is not only on board as our partner in general but also secured a conspicuous logo presence on our sleeves. This partnership is simply a perfect and authentic fit: We will benefit tremendously from BILLY BOY’s market recognition whilst they will actively engage with their relevant target groups. And besides the marketing aspect we see it as our responsibility to address the sensitive and important topic around safer sex amongst our fans.”
The partnership will last until the end of 2018.
UoL has had a disappointing start to their season after a 10th place finish in the Spring Split of the LoL EU LCS, a competition they won in 2017.
They are currently in a tie for seventh place in the Summer Split, two games behind Splyce for the final playoff spot heading into the final week of action.
