Riot Games are once again looking to adjust crit items to find the happy medium between effective and viable for players to utilize while trying to make OP champions less of a pain to lane against.

The 9.3 patch notes released February 5 revealing a slew of changes for Akali, Aatrox, Cassiopeia, Irelia, and Camille, as well as reintroducing items like Cloak of Agility and the brand new Spear of Shojin to the Rift.

A lot of changes will definitely change how players approach Akali.

Akali’s diving and trading potential was decreased, as she and Aatrox will both get heals taken away from them. Aatrox will get a bump in health regen stats but will see a major change to his Umbral Dash.

Camille, meanwhile, got changes that will slow down her jungling abilities to give opposing laners more breathing room from her fast camp clears.

Cassiopeia and Irelia both experienced changes that will make laning against them more balanced, as the two have been nerfed to prevent lopsided lane advantages.

The latest patch will hope to rectify some imbalances from popular champs in the game.

Crit items are awash with multiple changes as reinvigorated items like the Cloak of Agility and Essence Reaver will look to provide much-needed crit opportunities, but other items are still fumbling on improving survivability while offering worthwhile damage.

The changes will sure to throw a lot of players off as Riot attempts another overhaul of important items that affect numerous champs, but it’s all in an attempt to create a more stable game.
