Some Grand Theft Auto fans believe that the location for GTA 6 has been staring them in the face since 2013 thanks to possible hints from Max Payne 3.

Though GTA Online in GTA V is still going strong, many fans of the Grand Theft Auto series have been hoping to see an announcement about a fresh story in the form of GTA 6.

Rumors and apparent insider information suggested that they’d be getting what they wanted on March 25, however, that came and went without anything happening. Now, it appears that if they’d looked hard enough a few years ago, they may have gotten what they wanted from Max Payne 3.

We still have no idea if GTA 6 is even a thing.

Reddit user Someguy53333 pointed out that in Rockstar’s Max Payne title there is a poster for the band Love Fist – a fictional group that has been around in the Grand Theft Auto universe since Vice City.

On that poster, there are dates for what would be their tour, however, those dates apparently correlate to the release days and order of the last few games from Rockstar themselves – including GTA IV, Red Dead Redemption, GTA V, and Red Dead Redemption 2.

After the Red Dead Redemption 2 date, there is a spot for 10/29 which, if the theory holds up, would point to an October 29 release for GTA 6. The date also has Vice City next to it, seemingly confirming what fans are hoping for.

The Max Payne poster seems to hint at Vice City and a release date for GTA 6.

Of course, some fans might point to these dates being a complete coincidence – especially as Max Payne released in 2013 and it’s unlikely that Rockstar would set release dates so far in advance.

There is also the point that the original Vice City game, which is said to be the location for GTA 6, was released in North America around October 29, 2002 – and the date could, simply, be a nod to that fact.

For those fans holding out hope that they’ll be playing GTA 6 sooner rather than later, they’ll be wanting the date to line-up with a new release – but it is unknown if that will be the case, especially in 2020.

One game retailer has already claimed that the new game will be released this year, with supposed leakers also claiming that all the key details will be revealed by the end of March. But, we’ll just have to wait and see.

Rockstar accused of censoring GTA 6 discussion amid map leaks

Rockstar Games appears to be clamping down on GTA 6 discussion on social media after users claimed to have noticed their comments being censored on YouTube.

The news of the alleged censorship comes right as leaks supposedly revealing Vice City as the setting for the next installment in the franchise.

On Reddit, user TypicalPoetry22 voiced their frustration over the censorship with images showing how their comment about Grand Theft Auto 6 was removed from YouTube.

“So, like every time I watch the newly uploaded YouTube video from Rockstar Games. And like every time I also look at the comments,” they said, commenting that they spotted something suspicious. “There I noticed that I haven’t seen a single comment about GTA 6.”

Could this leak be related to GTA 6?

According to TypicalPoetry22, they wrote a comment about GTA 6 and then opened their browser in incognito mode only to see that it wasn’t visible. “So, Rockstar Games has blacklisted ‘GTA 6’ on YouTube.”

In the attached images, you can see a screenshot of a comment that reads “GTA 6 when” and then another with the remark nowhere to be seen. However, “GTA VI” seems to still be allowed.

It’s unclear when Rockstar started implementing this filter – if they have at all – but its discovery comes as an older map leak for Grand Theft Auto 6 resurfaced after one eerily similar found its way onto the internet.

Rockstar censors GTA 6 comments
Rockstar is accused of removing comments with “GTA 6” in them.

As Dexerto previously reported, the original leak seems to have emerged from someone with significant insider information as there is evidence suggesting they worked at Take-Two Interactive.

It is always possible that Rockstar is trying to prevent the spread of the map leaks on its own YouTube videos, but it could also just be the company trying to remove the influx of people commenting about a game that isn’t even announced yet.

Nonetheless, it’s a bit strange for Rockstar to be removing comments – if this is the case. Only time will tell when they finally decide to reveal the long-awaited sixth installment in the series.
