Exciting times are ahead for Grand Theft Auto players as Rockstar Games has rolled out an update for GTA V. The Online update adds a brand new in-game event, another car on the Diamond Casino podium, and more rewards for Twitch Prime members.

The game’s developers have been doing an excellent job of keeping their current game fresh in the midst of so many rumors surrounding new projects, such as Bully 2 and GTA 6, and weekly content updates have been a big part of that.

It might come as a surprise to many members of the game’s online community to see that a pickup truck is actually the headline vehicle for this week, but don’t let that put you off. There’s a new car up for grabs on the Lucky Wheel, a new event has kicked off with double rewards and more.

Let’s take a look at everything that’s been added to GTA Online this week.

GTA Online update (Feb 6) – What’s changed?

Here’s what the Declasse Drift Yosemite looks like in GTA Online.

We might as well get this one out of the way right off the bat, as a new pickup truck called the Declasse Drift Yosemite has been added to GTA Online.

While it might not wow you with its incredible looks like supercars have in recent times, this addition is an expensive one – especially if you would like to add it to your own garage. It’s being sold for $1.3 million at Southern San Andreas Super Autos.

Furia arrives on the podium

Grotti’s Furia was added to the GTA Casino podium in this update.

You can grab a very expensive car for absolutely nothing, however, with just one spin of the Lucky Wheel if you’re, well, lucky enough.

The Furia, which appears to be inspired by one of Ferrari’s sporty vehicles, is being sold for $2,740,000 at Legendary Motorsport. But if you manage to land on the podium prize when spinning the Lucky Wheel, you will pick it up completely free of charge.

Each GTA Online player can spin the wheel once per game by visiting the Diamond Casino and Resort.

New GTA Online event – Double rewards

GTA Online’s Stunt Race missions have been handed a limited time boost in rewards.

As has been the case for a few weeks now, some missions have been selected for a rewards boost for a limited time event.

Those playing the following in GTA Online will be handed double payouts and double RP for completing them between February 6 and February 12:

  • Rockstar Created Stunt Races
  • Southern San Andreas Super Sport Series Races
  • RC Time Trials
  • Business Battles

Discounts and Twitch Prime rewards

  • Principe Deveste Eight – 35% off
  • Annis S80RR – 35% off
  • Annis RE-7B – 35% off
  • Truffade Thrax – 35% off

  • Emperor ETR1 – 40% off

  • Obey Omnis – 40% off
  • Liveries – 40% off
  • Brakes & Handling – 40% off
  • Engine Upgrades – 40% off
  • Turbo – 40% off
  • Transmission – 40% off
  • Suspension – 40% off
  • All Garages – 35% off

That’s not all for Twitch Prime members, though, as they can get Pixel Pete’s Arcade property in Paleto Bay for free, via a rebate, and 80% off the Buckingham Pyro and Rhino Tank.

So, you’re probably going to see a lot more of them tanks rolling around the map in public matches from now on.

GTA 6 teaser speculation grows after players uncover more strange files in RDR2

Fans have spotted more out-of-place files in Red Dead Redemption 2 that could point toward either GTA 6 or rumors that the re-release of Grand Theft Auto V on PS5 and Xbox Series is on a new engine.

Rockstar has been mum on any information regarding the long-awaited announcement of GTA 6, but fans can hardly contain their excitement, combing through files of other games to find some clue for what the company is working on.

Now, with GTA Online players spotting code potentially referencing the RAGE Engine used in Red Dead Redemption 2, fans think there could be some connection between RDR2 and the next Grand Theft Auto.

As such, players have peeked through RDR2’s files and discovered some things that seem wildly out of place, even for the wild west.

What are these weird GTA-like files doing in Red Dead Redemption 2?

GTA Forums member ‘rollschuh2282’ noted that they found parachute-related files hidden in Red Dead. The crazy part is that the file doesn’t exist in GTA V.

“Funnily that [[email protected]@pack] animation file does not exist in V,” they wrote and provided a photo of all the parachute animations in GTA 5.

Lo and behold, the file with “pack” in its name was not among them, meaning it was unique to Red Dead 2’s code. But what would parachute files be doing in a game about cowboys?

Modern gun files don’t make sense in RDR2. Unless…

Fans believe this is either a sign towards the next-gen port of GTA V being in Red Dead Redemption 2’s engine or GTA 6.

Unfortunately, it’s unclear if the files had existed since the game’s PC release or were only recently added in a newer update.

This isn’t the first time fans have discovered weird files in RDR2. As Dexerto previously reported, weapon code for two variants of the Browning pistol, an L1A1 rifle and AK-47 were found back in late December.

In any case, more and more evidence is mounting that something is brewing at Rockstar and it isn’t just hot coffee. Only time will tell what the future holds, especially as GTA V’s re-release draws nearer.
