GTA 6 story is “finished” according to Rockstar insider

Supposed Rockstar insider Chris ‘Liberty93’ has potentially revealed some new details about GTA 6, claiming that some people have told him that the story is finished.

Grand Theft Auto fans across the globe have been clamoring for some indication that GTA VI is around the corner and set to be released. Though, after multiple insiders claimed that it was set to be announced in March, hopes of seeing the game this year were somewhat dashed.

Kotaku’s Jason Schrier poured further cold water on things by claiming that the was barely in early production – but reliable Rockstar insider TezFun stated that it was actually about 70% done. Now, another that appears to be in the loop has stepped up with apparent sources of their own.

Grand Theft Auto V continues to be a huge hit with fans – but that doesn’t make them any less excited for GTA 6.

Chris, who is also known as Liberty93 on Rockstar Mag, claimed that he had been informed that the story was completed prior to Dan Houser’s departure from Rockstar. “If Dan [Houser], who’s writing the story, leaves Rockstar it’s kind of a bit of Rockstar’s soul which is leaving,” the Frenchman said on the Rockstar Mag live stream.

“People tell me I shouldn’t be worried because GTA VI’s story is already finished. It could be true, but Red Dead Redemption 2’s story was finished in 2012, but they still made changes in late 2017, early 2018, and many little details were modified.”

Liberty93 also noted that they had contacted sources at Rockstar after a story that the game had only just entered early development shocked many fans.

“In our video that came Thursday night, we told you that it’s not true. According to our trustworthy sources, the game has been in dev since 2017,” he added, before noting that he even looked into TezFun’s claims as well. “Of course, I looked into it and the pre-production officially began in late 2014 and the real production in 2015.”

While the claims that the story is finished will signal to some fans that the game is closer than everyone’s thinks, there is no way of knowing if that is the case just yet.

Some have claimed that the game will be released before the end of 2020, however, Rockstar hasn’t officially announced that they’re working on GTA 6 – let alone even started advertising it. So, this wait could be going on for a little while longer yet.
