The Pokemon Go Battle League Season 18: World of Wonders has arrived with a new weekly schedule of leagues and cups, as well as some great rewards and themed Battle Days to enjoy.

While catching ’em all is the name of the game in Pokemon Go, Trainers looking to test their might against others will want to head to the competitive Go Battle League, which is now entering its 18th season, dubbed World of Wonders

Niantic revealed several attack changes this season and a number of unique cups to participate in, including the return of the Spring Cup.

Below, you’ll find everything you need to know about Season 18 of the Pokemon Go Battle League, including the end date, all the rewards you can earn along the way, and the new weekly schedule of leagues and cups.

Pokemon Go Battle League Season 18 start & end dates

Season 18 of the Go Battle League starts on Friday, March 1, 2024, at 9pm UK time / 1pm PST and ends on Saturday, June 1, 2024, 

At the beginning of Season 18, you’ll be able to claim your end-of-season rewards from the battle screen and your Go Battle League rank will be reset.

In addition to the traditional trio of Great, Ultra, and Master Leagues, there will be many special cups this season, including the Spring Cup and the Electric Cup.

There are loads of rewards to earn as you rise through the Go Battle League, from Pokemon encounters to avatar items.

Go Battle League Season 18 events schedule

There will be one special event taking place during Season 18 of the Go Battle League:

Battle Event Date
Go Battle Weekend: World of Wonders Saturday, May 4, 2024, at 12AM to Sunday, May 5, 2024, at 11:59PM

During the Go Battle Weekend: World of Wonders event, the maximum number of sets you can play per day will be raised from five to 20 for a total of 100 battles. You’ll also be able to claim 3× Stardust from win rewards.

During this Battle Weekend, free Timed Research will be available, and rewards will include Hala-Style shoes for your avatar.

There will also be paid-for Timed Research available for $1 with Stardust, Rare Candy XL, and one Star Piece available as rewards.

New attacks in Season 18 of the Pokemon Go Battle League

There are three new attacks being introduced to Pokemon Go during this season:

Metal Sound (Steel-type Fast Attack) 3 power 6 power
Psywave (Psychic-type Fast Attack) 3 power 4 power
Sand Attack (Ground-type Fast Attack) 2 power 4 power

Attack changes in Season 18 of the Pokemon Go Battle League

The following attacks will receive buffs or nerfs during this season:

Shadow Bone  Power increased from 75 to 80 in Trainer Battles
Brick Break Energy Generation increased in Trainer Battles, guaranteed to lower enemy defense by one stage
Cross Chop  Power increased from 50 to 55 in Trainer Battles
Aqua Tail  Power increased from 50 to 55 in Trainer Battles
Water Pulse  Power increased from 70 to 80 and Energy Cost decreased in Trainer Battles

Attack availability updates in Season 18 of the Pokemon Go Battle League

There are quite a few changes to attack availability this season, with the following Pokemon now able to learn new moves:

Aqua Tail (Water-type Charged Attack)

Can now be learned by Goodra.

Steel Wing (Steel-type Fast Attack)

Can now be learned by Empoleon.

Shadow Claw (Ghost-type Fast Attack)

Can now be learned by Feraligatr.

Psycho Cut (Psychic-type Fast Attack)

Can now be learned by Gallade.

Water Pulse (Water-type Charged Attack)

Can now be learned by Araquanid.

Brick Break (Fighting-type Charged Attack)

Can now be learned by Throh, Sawk, Krookodile, Crabrawler, Crabominable, Hakamo-o, Kommo-o.

Mud Shot (Ground-type Fast Attack)

Can now be learned by Diglett, Dugtrio, Graveler, Golem.

Psybeam (Psychic-type Charged Attack)

Can now be learned by Starmie.

Draining Kiss (Fairy-type Charged Attack)

Can now be learned by Kirlia.

Bullet Seed (Grass-type Fast Attack)

Can now be learned by Lileep.

Earthquake (Ground-type Charged Attack)

Can now be learned by Gastrodon.
