Video games journalist Laura Kate Dale spent 400 hours catching, trading, and grinding for every shiny in Pokémon Let’s GO, and she loved every second of it.

Pokémon Let’s GO Pikachu and Pokémon Let’s GO Eevee hit the shelves last November, delighting Nintendo Switch fans with its charming gameplay and cute graphics.

Laura made it her mission to obtain every shiny Pokémon in the game, finally completing her shiny Pokédex on May 23 – six months after it first released.

Nintendo / Game FreakShiny Pokémon are rare and have low spawn rates.

She posted many updates to Twitter along the way to show how her collection was coming along and even enlisted help from her followers, setting up trades for Pokémon she didn’t have.

Upon completion, Laura wrote about her experience on Kotaku and how she feels now she’s finished her task, saying, “There are a lot of mixed feelings. Accomplishment and pride, tinged with a strange sense of loss, unsure quite what can fill this gap in my gaming schedule.”

“I feel excitement and curiosity wondering about if I’ll ever manage to do this in another Pokémon game one day.”

If one fan deserves to be crowned Pokémon Master it’s Laura, with her burning dedication to catching ‘em all and becoming the very best.

How do you catch a shiny Pokémon in Let’s GO?

Catching a shiny Pokémon has always been known as an almost-impossible feat throughout the series, but Let’s GO makes it a little bit easier to accomplish.

To increase shiny spawn odds, your best bet is to complete the Pokédex first and visit the Game Director in Celadon City.

Nintendo / Game FreakThe Shiny Charm increases your chances of encountering a shiny Pokémon.

You’ll be gifted the Shiny Charm, an item that automatically boosts your shiny appearance rate from 1 in 4,096 to 1,365.

Completing the Dex might sound daunting but it’s actually a lot easier than it sounds in this game compared to others in the series.

Once you’ve obtained the Charm, head over to where your desired Pokémon dwells and use a Max Lure, an item that improves the spawn rate of monsters, and start catching only one type of Pokémon until you reach a combo of 31.

The reason for this being that 31 gives you the maximum shiny encounter chance, so anything below that will provide you with a lower potential and anything higher just doesn’t count.

Make sure you run away from any encounters after this because Pokémon don’t disappear from the game’s internal memory unless you force them to by either catching it or fleeing, the former of which will break your combo and reset your spawn rate.

Rocket League’s first season since going cross-platform and free-to-play is coming to an end, but that means Season 2 is around the corner, and it’s set to be even more exciting than the first, with new cars, cosmetics, a new arena, and more.

Rocket League has reached new heights since going cross-platform and free-to-play. It’s become more accessible and merged its player-base into one massive community. These changes have helped the game explode in popularity once again.

The first season in the new era was a huge success. It introduced some new features and improvements that were well-received among old and new players alike. However, the show must go on, and although Season 1 is coming to an end, Season 2 is on the horizon. Here’s everything you need to know.

Rocket Pass: New Cars and Cosmetics

Rocket League Season 2 includes an exciting new Rocket Pass. It’s jam-packed with 70 tiers of unlocks that all revolve around a common theme; lights and sounds. It comes in two tiers, although the free one is limited.

Players will be able to get their hands on everything from fresh new decals, fancy light show explosions, and wheels that look like subwoofers. However, a brand new car exclusive to Rocket Pass Premium is the biggest drawcard.

Rocket Pass Premium owners will unlock the R3MX immediately. It’s an exotic sports car with a cyberpunk twist. But the excitement doesn’t end there. They’ll also be able to unlock an even better version, the R3MX GXT, in the final tier.

Neon Fields

Rocket League is not all about cars and cosmetics, though. It’s also about the bright and colorful arenas that host all the battles. In Season 2, players will be graced with an exciting new level called Neon Fields.

It has an awesome retro theme with neon shades of blue, pink, purple, and yellow. It also stays true to the lights and sounds with an enormous speaker attached to the roof with an equalizer behind the stands.

Player Anthems

Last but not least, Rocket League Season 2 will introduce a new customization option called Player Anthems. You’ll be able to select a song from Rocket League’s awesome soundtrack and have it blasting in the background every time you score a goal.

What’s more, Rocket League Season 2 will also feature new music and content from Kaskade, an immensely popular DJ affiliated with the Monstercat label. Some of his songs, including two new ones, will be available as Player Anthems too.

The update will also include next-gen improvements on Xbox Series X and S and other quality-of-life tweaks and bug fixes.
