MultiVersus Ranked Play is a necessary game mode that keeps players of similar skill levels against each other, and we have all the details on it here.

All competitive online game modes generally try to feature some kind of Ranked Play system to give players a sense of accomplishment as they ascend the divisions and make battles fairer.

Rainbow Six Siege, Rocket League, and Apex Legends are top examples of games that use a system like this, and MultiVersus Ranked Play will help to pair equally skilled fighters against each other.

While the game has had some changes since it launched, Ranked play is still a priority, one that the dev team have been working hard at tweaking and adjusting for maximum output.

With that in mind, here are all the details you need to know about how to play MultiVersus ranked and how the feature will be playing out as the game evolves and progresses.

MultiVersus Ranked Play alpha is now live

On December 21, MultiVersus devs Player First Games revealed that Ranked Play would be coming back to the game, the Alpha version back for a “special mini holiday” event from December 21 to January 3, 2023.

The Twitter thread then went on to explain how the new Ranked Play mode will operate in this brief window of time.

“In order to test the changes to the experience for players starting out in Ranked, all points have been reset to 0.” However, Player First Games confirmed that all previously earned points are still in the game’s systems and have not been lost forever.

From there, the devs then detailed the changes and improvements to Ranked so that it is a much smoother experience for MultiVersus players.

“We’ve made fixes to the matchmaking so that players should be playing against other players of similar skill, even when they start out anew…High-skill players should reach the top leagues substantially quicker, as long as they’re able to win.”

Once we know more about Ranked Play and how it works we’ll be sure to update this guide ASAP and walk you through it.
