Blizzard has now commented on the “leaked” release date for Diablo Immortal on the Apple App Store.

Close to four years after Diablo Immortal was infamously announced at BlizzCon 2018, it appears the game is still on course for launch in 2022.

The disaster that was the announcement of the game at BlizzCon 2018 (don’t you guys have phones?) has become the stuff of legend, but eagle-eyed fans spotted what appeared to be a release date on Apple’s own App Store.

Update March 29 at 10:08AM (GMT):

Blizzard has provided the following statement, though, confirming that June 30 is, in fact, a placeholder date.

“As a point of clarification for anyone who pre-registers on iOS and iPadOS, players will notice that the game is listed with a launch date of June 30th. We want to make it clear that June 30th is not the official launch date of Diablo Immortal, and this is just a placeholder for the time being as we lock in our final plans. We will update the community with our official launch timing at a later date.”

Original story follows below.

Diablo Immortal release date leaked

According to a now-deleted page from Apple’s App Store, Diablo Immortal is “expected” to release on June 30, 2022.

‘Expected’ is the key word here, since Blizzard has told us the game should be coming in Q2 2022.

June 30 is the last day of Q2, and as such this leak could end up just be a placeholder. If Immortal is still set to come out when Blizzard said, we could even see it release earlier.

Another potential indication the game is releasing soon comes from the official Diablo Immortal Twitter.

The same day the Apple Store leaked appeared, March 28, Immortal called on players to pre-register to unlock exclusive cosmetics at launch.

The game has also had a closed beta going on since 2021. Considering that, the fact cosmetics are being deployed, and the leak, there’s a good chance we’ll see Immortal on June 30, if not sooner.
