Another potential Bully 2 hint discovered as speculation increases

There has been growing speculation surrounding a potential sequel to Rockstar Games’ 2006 ‘Bully’, including the suggestion there would be a shock E3 announcement, to a Polygon employee trolling us all with a URL code, and now another hint has been found.

The original Bully was released nearly 13 years ago, to widespread critical acclaim – despite some controversy over its title and in-game content. The game was even banned in Brazil, and received a different title of ‘Canis Canem Edit’ in some world regions.

One eagle-eyed Reddit user noticed that IGN’s UK page for a potential Bully 2 received a slight change on August 1, which has excited a number of community members, as Rockstar’s next project remains unclear.

Rockstar GamesRockstar’s most recent game, Red Dead Redemption 2, released almost a year ago.

The page, simply titled Bully 2, has long been present on IGN’s website, collating their related articles. Details of the game itself are obviously unknown, unclear, such as the game’s developer and publisher both listed as ‘N/A’, while the release date and platforms are ‘TBA’.

However, one aspect of the page was apparently updated on August 1. The section referring to the game’s age rating was changed from ‘TBA’, to ‘RP+T’. According to IGN’s page on ESRB ratings “this rating denotes that content in this game has not been fully evaluated but will likely not be appropriate for children.”

As the fan explains, “Yesterday IGN updated Bully 2 page holder! The only change i found is the Rating of the game from TBA to Rated “RP-T+”.

The change in rating can be seen on the right.

While this certainly does not mean that Bully 2 is on the way, it begs the question why the page is being updated, and whether a rating is on its way – as the change could indicate.

Fans are expecting an announcement soon, and some think there may even be one on Sunday, August 4, coinciding with a GTA V Casino picture, which some think refers to the date 8/4.

However, this is completely unconfirmed, and the original Reddit post has since been deleted, so it looks like we’ll just have to wait and see.

Rockstar’s most recent release was Red Dead Redemption 2, which dropped in October 2018, and was quickly hailed as one of the best games of the year.

Speculation has also surrounded a sixth instalment in the Grand Theft Auto series, as it has been six years since GTA V released.

A remastered version of GTA V for PS4 and Xbox One dropped in late 2014.

The game has received a significant amount of DLC since then, but a sixth instalment in the famed franchise remains unconfirmed, despite the continued community interest in GTA V Online.
