The addition of Star Wars Lightsabers in Fortnite Chapter 2 has a lot of players excited, except, it seems, for superstar pro player Turner ‘Tfue’ Tenney, who believes the weapon is not a good option to go with.

The highly-anticipated Star Wars x Fortnite event finally took place on December 14, infusing the storied science-fiction franchise with arguably the most successful single video game in history.

The event, which was to promote the upcoming The Rise of Skywalker film, added a lot of themed content into the game, including crashed TIE Fighters, Blaster guns, and, of course, Lightsabers.

After getting the chance to try out the laser swords, Fortnite star Tfue quickly came to the conclusion that he wasn’t really fond of them in their current state.

The former FaZe Clan pro used words like “dogsh*t” and “ass” to describe the new item, especially when considering its potential in a competitive setting.

Why Tfue doesn’t like the Lightsabers in Fortnite

One of his biggest issues with the Lightsabers is that there is a considerable delay when trying to build immediately after having one equipped and swinging around.

“I can’t f**king build bro!” he yelled frustratingly. “What the f**k! F**k this Lightsaber dogsh*t! F**cking keep swinging, I can’t f**king build?”

He’s also not a fan of the way the sword can be used to farm materials and resources, saying: “Bro farming mats with this is actually kind of ass.”

After failing in his attempt to do a “wall replace” (destroying an enemy player’s wall and immediately replacing it with your own) while having a Lightsaber out, the World Cup finalist realized that there isn’t really much use of the weapon.

“If you get caught with a Lightsaber out and you ain’t in someone’s box and you’re swinging, you’re probably going to get sh*t on,” he explained.

When one of his viewers asked for his opinion on the Lightsaber’s potential in competitive Fortnite, Tfue was resigned to the weapon not really being viable.

“You guys think they’re going to put Lightsabers in Arena? There’s no way, right? Lightsaber’s ass! Someone tries to use that in competitive they’re probably going to get sh*t on, to be honest. I really don’t think it’s that OP. People are tripping.”

Tfue reveals only good use for Lighsabers in Fortnite

Despite his downplaying of the Lightsabers’ viability in Fortnite, Tfue did admit that the new item offered one major positive – the enhanced field of view (FOV).

FOV has been a controversial topic in Fortnite, especially among the competitive player-base, most of whom have asked Epic to add a slider in the game that allows players to adjust their FOV.

Although that still has not been added, the new Lightsabers do offer a much better FOV when equipped, which many, including Tfue, have realized really helps with running around and making it harder for enemies to land shots.
