Tfue discovers Fortnite boat exploit that gives players massive jumps

Connor Bennett

Popular Fortnite professional Turner ‘Tfue’ Tenney has seemingly uncovered a new ‘exploit’ that allows players to use the missiles on boats to give themselves an extra leap with their jump.

Ever since it released a battle royale mode back in 2017, Fortnite players have been finding unique ways to move, use the game’s physics, and items to give them an advantage on their opponents.

Many of those movement items were removed with the start of Fortnite Chapter 2, meaning that players had to get a bit more creative. The introduction of boats seemed to help to a degree, with players actually being able to drive them on land instead of just water. Yet, while that has slowed down a little in recent months, Tfue has found a new use for the aquatic vehicles.

During his February 17 stream, the popular professional Fortnite player had been trying his hand at some solo matches when he took a boat onto land and tried to climb a hill with it.

As progress was slow, Tfue combined the boat’s booster with a missile to create a little extra touch of speed, but he jumped out the vehicle just as the rocket collided with it and was tossed forward with an extra spring in his spring.

“Oh shit, that was kind of fire,” he said after getting back in the boat and tried to attempt it for a second time. “Damn, I just might have figured out like a little exploit.”

Seeing as the explosion didn’t exactly throw him in a position on the map where he couldn’t lose the game from, it’s hardly a game-breaking exploit that needs immediate repair, and probably more to do with a bit of luck.

Of course, it’ll be interesting to see if more players start following in Tfue’s footsteps and attempt to replicate the bigger jump. Only then will we really know if he uncovered a bigger secret.
