Shroud wants to compete in Fortnite but explains why it might not happen

Popular Twitch streamer Michael 'Shroud' Grzesiek has expressed interest in competing in Fortnite Battle Royale, but is not confident in that becoming a reality.

While live-streaming the game, Shroud was asked by Team Liquid Fortnite pro 'POACH' about whether he would consider participating in the Skirmish competition series that Epic Games hosts seasonally.

While Shroud's answer revealed that he's interested, he confessed that he doesn't believe he's good enough to compete against the best.

"I mean I would like to but I'm just not good enough," he said. "Maybe one day, but I'd like to see it and try it. I just don't know if it's a qualifier or if it's invites. I don't know how it works."

POACH went on to explain to Shroud that the Skirmishes feature a mix of pro players and content creators, so Shroud would not have to be elite at Fortnite to compete, since the format makes the competition "not super competitive."

Shroud's prominence as a Twitch streamer would likely earn him an invite if he was seriously interested, although it would be unlikely to be for the currently ongoing Fall Skirmish since all of the invites have been already handed out.

"So you're saying there's a chance for me?" Shroud said hopefully.

However, later on during the stream, Shroud also admitted that Fortnite could take a backseat soon, as he plans on playing a lot of Blackout - Call of Duty's new battle royale mode that will release as part of Black Ops 4 on October 12.

He was one of the more popular streamers of Blackout during its beta week in September, and he knows that his desire to play the game will hamper any plans of grinding Fortnite.
