LG SypherPK has an interesting idea to improve Fortnite’s editing

Editing in Fortnite is the high-level skill that separates great builders from good ones, but some issues with editing can make it frustrating to change builds.

When trying to edit quickly, especially with high ping or latency, players have found that they fire off random shots or struggle to open editing altogether.

That’s because, opening editing and confirming the edit are the same button, which makes it a bit too easy to make mistakes, especially in a heated battle when most edits are used.

Luminosity Gaming’s SypherPK has a solution.

Instead of hitting the same button twice to open and close the editing of a building, have a player hold down the button to stay in editing, make their edits, then release the button to confirm the edit.

This fairly simple solution could be a nice quality of life improvement, especially as pro players continue to increase the speed of their builds.

This solution would most benefit people with high ping, basically the entire middle of North America where servers are often spotty.

That delay in the high ping situations makes editing so inconsistent that the risk isn’t worth it in many situations.

Utilizing hold and release would make editing more consistent, and could easily be toggled on and off in the settings.
