Fortnite Season 2 leak reveals upcoming Risky Reels LTM

Dataminers sifting through Fortnite’s April 8 maintenance patch have discovered some leaked Limited-Time Mode files that reveal a major event is coming to Risky Reels in the near future.

Fortnite has received plenty of updates during its second season of Chapter 2, and while the April 8 update focused more on the nitty-gritty behind-the-scenes things that keep the popular battle royale running smoothly.

Of course, that didn’t stop dataminers from searching through the game’s files to see if they had found anything new and exciting, and leaker FortTory has discovered some new files directly related to an LTM that is set to launch in the game in the near future.

Risky Reels will play host to a special event.

Discovered in the datafiles is a new event that’s set to take over Risky Reels, and is likely the reason that Epic Games have been testing the movie screen at the location of the past weeks.

The event is called “Now Playing,” and according to the description, will feature screenings of Punk’d, a show where Ashton Kutcher would prank other celebrities, with Justin Bieber and then a number of other stars also acting as hosts until the show finished airing in 2015. In 2020, it was announced that Chance The Rapper would be fronting a rebooted version of the show on mobile video platform Quibi, but it appears it will also be airing inside Fortnite too.

The description reads: “Just want to Risky & Chill? Hang out in Now Playing to catch the hourly screenings of Punk’d. Top of the hour, every hour,” although there’s no confirmation if it will just be one episode that is shown, or the entire series.

For those looking forward to the event, there is currently no official start date for the Risky Reels Punk’d showings to start, but with the details now in the game, it seems that it won’t be far away.

Of course, these are just leaks, so while Epic may have gone to the effort of adding them in, things don’t always get used in the game, so don’t be shocked if we never see the shows.
