How to play in $1 million Fortnite Xbox Cup – format, schedule and more

Now is the chance for all the Xbox players out there to prove their dominance in Fortnite by competing in the console-exclusive tournament that runs the weekend of July 20 and 21.
The event is open to everyone – they just have to make sure they play while the event is live. Where players place on July 20 will determine if they are able to go into the next day to compete for the grand prize.
Xbox and Fortnite have teamed up before for an exclusive bundle.When does the Xbox Cup begin?
The online qualifiers for the Xbox Cup start up on July 20 at 5 PM PST / 8 PM EST and will run for three hours until 8 PM PST / 11 PM EST.
From there, the top 1500 players from that first day will move onto the July 21 championship round which runs during the same timeframe of 5 PM PST / 8 PM EST to 8 PM PST / 11 PM EST.

What is the format for the event?
Like every previous Fortnite event, there is a distinct scoring system that applies to this tournament. Instead of only going for a Victory Royale, the format will account for your eliminations as well as your final placements.
It is as follows:
Victory Royale: 10 Points
2nd – 5th: 7 Points
6th – 15th: 5 Points
16th – 25th: 3 Points
Each Elimination: 1 Point
This means that while placement will reward players with the most amount of points, getting eliminations isn’t something that should be ignored.
Lots of money is up for grabs.What’s the prize pool?
While the tournament is being advertised as having a $1 million pool, that doesn’t mean the winner gets all of that, or even close to that amount.
The winnings are split up across different regions with $5000 going to the winner in NA East, NA West, and Europe and $3500 going to the winner in Asia, Brazil, and Oceania.
