Fortnite‘s Chapter 2, Season 1 is drawing to a close and with just a few weeks remaining before the start of the new season, Epic Games are releasing four sets of Overtime challenges, with the second Mission titled ‘8-Ball vs Scratch’ going live on January 16.

After weeks of waiting on an update, Fortnite fans finally received a brand-new patch on January 15, with the v11.40 patch introducing the new Sidegrading tool which allows players to exchange their normal Assault Rifle for the returning Heavy variant by offering up materials as part of the trade.

Also included in the new update are new challenges for players to sink their teeth into as the season winds down to an end, with 8-Ball vs Scratch following the Remedy vs Toxin Mission, offering players some final opportunities to rank up their Battle Pass and earn some cool cosmetic rewards.

Epic Games add new challenges to the game every Thursday, with 8-Ball vs Scratch going live on Thursday, January 16, offering massive XP rewards and a special Harvesting Tool to those who complete all nine of the challenges.

Like last week’s Remedy vs Toxin Mission, Epic Games don’t appear to have any set theme for the challenges, but players will be travelling around the map a lot if they hope to finish all nine and earn their rewards. A gnome has been hidden between Fancy View, a wooden shack, and a big house, and Fortnite fans will need to hunt it down and interact with it to complete one of the week’s most difficult tasks.

Players will also need to dance at Rainbow Rentals, Beach Bus, and Lake Canoe for another of the challenges, hunt down areas marked with “No swimming” signs and take a dip anyway, and visit Base Camps found in the mountains, meaning competitors will see plenty of the Chapter 2 map as they hunt down Victory Royales while completing the Mission. You can view the full 8-Ball vs Scratch challenges below.

These challenges may sound difficult, but the rewards definitely make them worthwhile, as each task offers 52,000 XP as a reward, which will help you level up quickly and earn more Battle Stars to rank up your Battle Pass as you grind your way to the special Tier 100 skin.

Remember though, you need to have completed Tier 60 of the Battle Pass to take this Mission on, so if you haven’t made it there yet, you’ll need to keep playing before you can start these challenges.
