Team SoloMid’s pro Fortnite players Ali ‘Myth’ Kabbani and Darryle ‘Hamlinz’ Hamlin have won the fourth running of the KEEMSTAR ‘Friday Fortnite’ celebrity tournament.

In a semi-rematch of the Week Two Grand Finals, TSM defeated the former champions ‘Typical Gamer’ and ‘SoaR Thief’ in an action-packed, two-match Grand Final, taking home the whopping $10,000 first place prize.

Having been relegated to the Losers Bracket early on after losing in the very first round, Myth and Hamlinz went on an incredible and pressure-packed run to make it to the Grand Final.

There they met the Winners Bracket winners Typical Gamer and Thief, who had to win only one of two matches to secure the championship, while TSM needed to win two.

It initially appeared that the Week Two champions would wrap things up in the first match, but a relentless push by TSM gave them the match win and reset the bracket.

In the winner-takes-all second match, Typical Gamer and Thief grabbed a lead after the first game, but got eliminated very early on in the second game.

Needing to get just four kills to win, Myth and Hamlinz took care of business, taking home their first Friday Fortnite championship.

Sponsored by popular YouTube Daniel ‘KEEMSTAR’ Keem and UMG, the fourth running of the ‘Friday Fortnite’ tournament on June 1st featured some of the biggest names of the online gaming and content creation communities.

Members of FaZe Clan, Team SoloMid, The Sidemen, OpTic Gaming, 100 Thieves, and a host of other big YouTubers and Twitch streamers such as Ninja, Roman Atwood, Logan Paul, and even Canadian rapper and singer Tory Lanez all competed for a piece of the massive $20,000 prize pool.

This week’s tournament featured a major formatting change, as all of the Losers Bracket matches had to played in the new Blitz Mode V2, which is essentially a faster paced version of the regular Squads mode.

Last week’s champions, the FaZe pro Fortnite player duo of ‘TFUE’ and ‘Cloak,’ were unable to defend their title as they got eliminated in the 7th round of the Losers Bracket.

A new Fortnite leak has claimed that the Flare Gun could be set to make a return in the near future, and it would be receiving quite a substantial buff too.

As Fortnite seasons unfold, weapons and items are regularly cycled in and out of the loot pool – either for being too strong, too weak, or not fitting the theme of the new patch.

This means that some fan-favorite weapons might disappear from the game for one reason or another, either to return at some point later in the future or to never be seen again.

In the case of the Flare Gun, which was initially added to the battle royale back in the v13.20 update but it was removed at the start of Chapter 2, Season 4. With some fans hoping to see it return, especially given the new fire mechanics, it appears as if Epic have got something up their sleeve.

The Flare Gun first appeared in a small short video from Epic Games.

Following the v14.30 update, which gave a buff to the Combat Shotgun and also brought the Rally Royale limited-time mode to the party, leakers uncovered a handful of changes coming in the future.

This includes the Flare Gun, which as leaker Mang0e_ pointed out, could be set to return to the battle royale after a spell in the vault, but with a little bit of a boost too.

“The flare gun may be coming back to core modes soon,” the leaker tweeted on October 15. “The duration for marking enemies was re-added and increased to 15 seconds.”

While this is not set in the stone, as the leaker tweeted that it may return, some fans will be hoping that the Flare Gun does return – especially given its reported buff.

This increase in time with marking enemies would certainly make players think twice about ignoring the chance to use the Flare Gun. But, as ever, it’ll be up to Epic to make the final call.
