Grand Final recap and highlights

Thanks to the fact that they came into the grand final having won the Winners Bracket, Nate Hill and Funk had the huge advantage of having to only win one series, while Dubs and Megga had to win both.

While everyone expected this final to be an intense affair, since all four players had previously qualified for the Fortnite World Cup, the first map saw Dubs and Megga shockingly go down early, giving their opponents the rest of the match to try and build a lead.

And build they did, as Nate Hill went on one of his typically relentless runs, helping Funk clear out the lobby and take a whopping 28-5 lead going into map two.

Facing a virtually insurmountable lead, Dubs and Megga were forced to play as aggressively as possible, opting to land at the usually-busy Paradise Palms.

Unfortunately, their plan backfired, as the two were eliminated just moments after landing, crowning their FaZe teammates Nate Hill and Funk Friday Fortnite week five champions.

How does Friday Fortnite work?

Friday Fortnite is a weekly tournament that brings together some of the biggest content creators and pro players of the online gaming community, sometimes even featuring celebrities and athletes.

The tournament is double-elimination, and uses the exciting ‘total of two’ and ‘bot race’ format. In each round, the teams that get matched up queue into a public Squads lobby together, where they try to get as many eliminations as possible.

After two Squads matches, the team with the most combined eliminations gets to advance, while a third match is played if the two teams end up tied.
