The latest Fortnite Season 5 leak points towards a crossover with iconic movie franchise Tron, with a skin coming to the game soon.

As any Fortnite player knows, crossovers are one of the most exciting parts of the game, and they always manage to surprise us. At this point, we’re pretty certain Fortnite must hold the award for most IPs in one single video game.

So far in Season 5, we’ve seen appearances from gaming legends like God of War’s Kratos and Halo’s Master Chief, as well as some more unexpected crossovers from classic movie Predator and hit TV series The Walking Dead.

But this latest leak points towards a completely left-field choice of crossover, as it looks like the world of Fortnite is about to collide with the classic 1982 sci-fi movie Tron.

Tron skin coming soon to Fortnite

So far throughout Season 5, the majority of major crossover skins have been hinted at through portals that extend from the Zero Point. The latest, which is codenamed ‘Mainframe’ and has been shared by a number of Fortnite leakers, looks set to be Tron.

The leaked portal image shows a neon city that clearly resembles the visuals of the Tron franchise. If you look closely, you can also see a Light Cycle on the road, which are the motorbike-inspired vehicles driven in the movies.

As shared by HYPEX, the audio associated with the portal will also sound very familiar to Tron fans. We’re not sure when the crossover will happen, but the wait is usually not that long after Fortnite skins leak.

While previous skins in Season 5 such as The Mandalorian and The Terminator have matched up with the ‘bounty hunter’ theme, we’re not quite sure how Tron or the recently-announced The Flash skin fit that description.

Regardless of the specifics, we’re enjoying watching Fortnite continue to flesh out its world by welcoming other franchises to The Island. Besides, we’re keeping our fingers crossed that the rumored Lara Croft skin becomes reality.
