The sixth week of the season kicked off on June 12 with the v9.21 update, which introduced the brand-new Proximity Grenade Launcher to the game, alongside a nerf for the Storm Flip and a number of balancing changes to loot availability.

Having had a little time with the new update, fans of the game now have a new batch of weekly challenges to complete, which will reward players with Battle Stars that they can use to rank up their Battle Pass.

As usual, there are three free challenges which are open to anyone who owns the game, with a further four challenges which are available only to players who purchased the Season 9 Battle Pass.

Successfully undertaking four of the seven total challenges will unlock 5,000XP reward, and finishing all of them will add another completed week to the Utopia challenges, which will award players with the special reward skin later on in Season 9.

The Season 9 Week 6 challenges will go live on Thursday, June 13 at 6:00 AM PST / 9:00 AM EST / 2:00 PM BST, giving players a number of new challenges to sink their teeth into while they search for Victory Royales.

Fortnite Season 9, Week 6 challenges and how to complete them

Stage 1: Land at Lucky Landing [Staged Challenge, Five Battle Stars]

The first staged challenge of Week 6 sees players required to land at five different named locations across the map. Players will need to drop here out of the Battle Bus, and start in the southern most point of the map, ending up north at Haunted Hills.

The challenge must be completed in order, so make sure not to skip any or you won’t receive your Battle Stars.

Deal 500 damage with SMGs to opponents [Five Battle Stars]

Another straightforward challenge, players will need to grab one of the game’s submachine guns and deal 500 damage to opponents. There’s no specific weapon required to complete this, so the first one you find is perfect, whether it’s a Burst SMG or just the normal version.

Epic GamesFortnite players will need to use an SMG to deal damage to enemy players.

Stage 1: Search chests at a Hot Spot [10 Battle Stars]

Perhaps the most difficult challenge, players will have to head to the Hot Spot to earn these Battle Stars, and are required to search chests, search ammo boxes and find an elimination at the location.

The whereabouts of the Hot Spot changes every map, and due to the increased amount of loot, there may be others in the area, so keep your wits about you. Again, these must be completed in order, so an elimination won’t count towards your challenge if you haven’t search the chests or ammo boxes first.

Deal 200 damage to a vehicle driven by an opponent [Five Battle Stars]

Keep your eyes peeled for enemy players zooming across the map in a Baller or on a Quadcrasher, as you’ll need to deal damage to the vehicle driven by them to complete this one.

Damage done to the driver themselves won’t count, so make sure you hit the vehicle before you try and take them down.

Epic GamesKeep an eye out for enemies in vehicles, as you need to deal damage to them.

Use a Storm Flip in three different matches [Five Battle Stars]

Players will need to be on the lookout for the Storm Flip item, as they’ll need to throw one of these three times to complete this challenge.

The good news is that you don’t have to deal damage in this challenge, so you can just pick one up and throw it immediately if you don’t want to carry it around while you search for opponents.

Use two different vehicles in a single match [10 Battle Stars]

Find vehicles and hop in, because you’ll need to use two different versions in a single match to earn the 10 Battle Star reward for this challenge.

The easiest way to complete this one is to find a vehicle, whether it’s a Driftboard, a Baller, or a Quadcrasher, and drive around in it until you find one of the others. Then, quickly hop on it, drive around a little, and you’re finished.

Eliminate three opponents in The Block or Fatal Fields [10 Battle Stars]

Finally, players will need to head to either The Block or Fatal Fields, and take down three opponents in either of the locations.

The three kills don’t need to be secured in a single match, nor do all three need to come from the same location, so you can choose where you want to go based on your drop or personal preference.
