As Fortnite Chapter 2 Season 2 inches closer, the latest teaser from Epic Games could hint at the return of a Season 4 fan-favorite character.

It's officially teaser season in Fortnite as players wait for the next season to begin on February 20.

Lots of theories and rumors are flying around out there, so it's really hard to figure out what's accurate and what's not.

One possible theory that does seem possible is the upcoming season could see a return of Carbide.

This character was introduced all the way back in Season 4 in Chapter 1, so only longtime players will know anything about this character.

He actually ended up being one of the first skins that had alternate styles, so he was a trailblazer in that aspect.

The most recent teaser from Epic Games, which shows what appears to be an exploding propane tank, features a bunch of objects scattered around it.

Fortnite leaker HYPEX put the pieces together and discovered they actually resemble the Carbide base logo from Season 4. He then made the connection to the unreleased Omega remix for the skin, possibly indicating that Epic might be gearing up to finally introduce it.

Of course, there's no definitive way to prove if this is the case one way or another, so all players can do in the meantime is speculate.

Skins making returns from previous seasons isn't anything new, so this would certainly be within the realm of possibilities.

With Season 2 kicking off in just a matter of days, players won't have to wait long to find out what Epic have in store.

It's likely the developer will drop another round of teasers before the launch, so fans should have some more to digest just before the launch of the new season.

After a relatively quiet start to Chapter 2, Epic Games are certainly closing things out with a bang.
