Fortnite New Year 2020 event weapon wraps leaked
The New Year has arrived, so what does Fortnite have in store?
In a surprise to nobody, it’s looking like there will be a New Year’s event in Fortnite and the weapon wraps that will be available have leaked.
As we close out 2019, Epic Games will once again have a celebration prepared for players and there will be some cosmetics for players to pick up.
There has been some sort of event for pretty much every holiday in Fortnite, so people saw this one coming from a mile away, but it doesn’t sound like it’ll be a whole lot different from the 2019 festivities.
Winter has arrived and with it comes a New Year event.[ad name=”article1″]
This news is courtesy of prominent Fortnite leaker Lucas7yoshi who confirmed the event and said it’ll look pretty much the same as it was before outside of the year changing. It’s still important to note that the event and wraps are just leaks for the time being so take the information with a pinch of salt.
However, there will be a couple of things to look forward to. A pair of weapon wraps will make an appearance for the event, called New Year 2020 and Star Party respectively.

The New Year wrap will be part of the Winterfest presents while the Star Party one will make an appearance in the item shop. No price was given for it so don’t go and spend all your V-Bucks right away if you plan on picking this one up.
Outside of the wraps, it doesn’t look like there will be a whole lot else going on for this event.
This isn’t all that surprising since game devs tend to take the holidays off work as a chance to rewind and if anybody needs a break, it’s Epic considering the number of updates that go into Fortnite.

The end of the inaugural season of Chapter 2 has been pushed into January so Epic will need to fill in that extra time with some exciting events.
We’ve already seen the Winterfest take up a large chunk of that time and with these mysterious blizzards that have been popping up around the map, we might be seeing a glimpse of the future already.
