It's been a long wait for many people in the region but just days after a number of upcoming servers were leaked ahead of schedule by data miners, finally action has been taken by the developers.

Fortnite players in the Middle East have been experiencing dreadful ping and connection problems since the battle royale title first launched in September 2017, as a result of having to play on servers that weren't made for their location.

The community came together as one back in January 2019 to express their collective dissatisfaction with a campaign that went viral on social media. At the time of writing, over six months later, action has finally been taken.

Players can now select the Middle East server to play on at the start of their gaming sessions, as seen in the screenshot below, confirming a leak from FNBRInsider on August 6.

According to leaker Lucas7Yoshi, the servers are named both 'MUM' and 'MUM_S', which suggests that they are based in Mumbai, India if you consider its location and who will be using it.

Whether or not the other 14 servers that have been leaked, and are expected to be added to Fortnite, will be coming any time soon remains to be seen.

But, one thing is for certain and that's the Middle East one is finally ready to play on. Players will no doubt be delighted by the news.
