The two factions in Fortnite, Ghost and Shadow, are set to go head-to-head in an upcoming LTM in Season 2, according to leaks revealing details of the ‘Faction Wars’ event.

Epic has a history of pitting two sides against each other in Fortnite, such as the classic Food Fight LTM which put two rival restaurants, Durr Burger and Pizza Pit, in a fight to the end.

Ghost and Shadow are the two mysterious factions in Fortnite’s second season of Chapter 2, all part of the ‘top secret’ agents theme, and they too are getting their own special event, revealed by this leak.

Team Ghost and Shadow are rival factions in Fortnite Season 2.

The event was first leaked by reliable data miner FireMonkey, who has uncovered clues about what it will include thanks to some game files in Fortnite.

The description of the event reads: “Team Ghost or Team Shadow? Pick your team from the PC and fight to upgrade your Faction intel level! This Faction v Faction event isn’t your ordinary event, as you can switch factions any time you want!”

FireMonkey continues: “The higher your faction level, the higher your Reward for the event. You’ll be able to see your Faction Tier & Rewards from the computer, as well as switch what faction you’re on.”

When is the Faction Wars LTM event?

Despite finding these game files, the leaker clarifies that the event is not ready and complete as of the v12.00 update. That means the developers at Epic Games are likely still working on the final touches before it is launched.

We know it will be released at some point during Season 2, but when exactly remains unclear. We may have a better indication after the next update, when more files may be added for leakers to uncover.

As with all leaked game files, everything is subject to change, as the leaker themselves states. It’s also unknown what rewards will be included, but we do know that the rewards will be improved depending on your faction level.

Stay tuned for more information on the leaked Faction Wars event to come. In the meantime, make sure you’re completing all the weekly challenges for the Deadpool skin in Season 2 before it’s too late.
