Epic Games is partnering with ESL, one of the world’s biggest esports event organizers, to host a $600,000 Fortnite tournament, featuring some of the biggest names in the game.
The likes of FaZe Clan’s Turner ‘Tfue’ Tenney and Dennis ‘Cloak’ Lepore, Team Liquid’s Noah ‘Vivid’ Wright and Ryan ‘Chap’ Chaplo have already been confirmed, with more to be announced.
The tournament will be a duos event, with a total of $500,000 up for grabs in prizing, which will played for between the best players and top influencers, on March 1 - 3.
There will also be a separate Polish Edition of the event with its own $100,000 prize pool, with only the top Polish players and influencers competing.
For the first time, competitive Fortnite will make its appearance at an IEM event, a major milestone in the development of Fortnite esports.
Fans attending the event live will also be able to compete for cash and material prizes on the 100 PC’s and 100 PS4’s provided in the 2,500 m² area at the Expo.
For those not attending in person, the event will of course be streamed online “across various live broadcasts”.
