Epic Games Drop a Hint That the Old Fortnite Menu Music Could Be Returning

During the official live stream for this week’s Summer Skirmish Fortnite tournament, Epic Games dropped a potentially major hint that the original menu music could be making a return.

As those who have been playing Fortnite Battle Royale since release in late September will recall, the menu music currently in game is not the same as what it used to be.

During some point in season 3, the menu music was completely switched up – and the change has split opinion in the community, with some players nostalgic for the old music already.

Epic Games has been bombarded with requests for the old music to return on all of Fortnite’s social channels, on Twitter, Reddit and the official forums.

Epic has been silent on the issue, but there is no way the constant requests have gone unnoticed, and during the Week 3 Summer Skirmish, fans believe a major hint about the old music returning was dropped.

At the conclusion of the tournament, a “Thanks for Watching” screen was displayed – accompanied by the original menu music, sending the viewers in chat into frenzy, as you can see in this clip.

The music has been remixed slightly, and is not a direct copy of the original menu jingle, but it is almost identical.

With season 5 about to hit its fourth week, it is unlikely that the music is brought in for this season, but it wouldn’t be too surprising if the menu music returned for season 6.

However, this could mean nothing at all, and may just be the music they are choosing for Summer Skirmish – but it is a devilish tease from Epic if so, considering how desperate much of the community is for the old music to return.
