Epic Games has announced that the release of the V.5.40 update and the High Stakes event in Fortnite: Battle Royale will be delayed.

The announcement came via Twitter, which claims the delay will occur due to a ‘critical controller issue.’
V.4.0 and the High Stakes event will now be released on Thursday, September 6 after it was originally set to launch on Wednesday, September 5.
‘High Stakes’ was first revealed by Epic Games during PAX West, and is set to feature a new game mode, outfits, challenges, and much more.

Epic Games have also announced that this delay has pushed back the release of this week’s challenges from September 6 to 7.
