Fortnite Season 9 Week 8 challenges and how to complete them

Matt Porter

The eighth week of Fortnite’s 14 Days of Summer event is now live, giving players a brand-new daily challenge every day which unlocks rewards for any players who choose to complete the tasks, which so far have seen players searching for beach parties and bouncing giant beach balls.

As always, there is a brand-new set of weekly challenges, which reward players with Battle Stars which are used to rank up the game’s Battle Pass.

The challenges are divided into two sections: three challenges which are free and available to anyone who owns the game, with another locked and only completable by those who own the Season 9 Battle Pass.

Successfully completing challenges will reward you with more than Battle Stars, as anyone who finishes any four of the seven weekly tasks will receive an 8,000XP bonus to help you level up, as well as move you one step closer to the Utopia skin should you wrap up all seven.

Fortnite Season 9, Week 8 challenges and how to complete them

Apply 400 shields – Five Battle Stars

The first challenge of Week 8 asks players to add 400 shield points to their character. This doesn’t have to take place in one match, so this should be an easy challenge to complete.

There are no specific ways in which the shield must be added, so if you see Mini Shield Pots, Shield Pots, Slurp Juice, Chug Splash or a Chug Jug, make sure to grab it and use it like you normally would.

Visit three different clocks – Five Battle Stars

Challenge two will require the player to do some detective work, as they must hunt down and visit three different clocks on the Fortnite map.

If you’re struggling to find them, players will need to head to Junk Junction, Neo Tilted and Happy Hamlet, with no specified order in which you need to go to them in.

Eliminate seven opponents in Snobby Shores or Mega Mall – 10 Battle Stars

Fairly self-explanatory, Fortnite fans will need to head to either Snobby Shores or Mega Mall, and send seven different players back to the lobby while in those named locations.

Players can choose either location as the spot where they would like to find their kills, don’t have to find all seven in one match, and can choose to grab a few in each area if they would like to.

Deal 500 damage to opponents with Assault Rifles – Five Battle Stars

Another easy challenge, all you need to do is pick up an Assault Rifle of any kind, and deal 500 damage to enemy players to earn the reward.

The easiest way to do this is to find eliminations with the weapon, as taking down three enemy players with full health and shield will add 200 damage to your challenge, however any bullets which connect with an opponent will count, so don’t worry if you can only land one bullet on them.

Epic GamesPlayers will need to deal damage with assault rifles to complete this challenge.

Stage 1: Land at Paradise Palms – One Battle Star

This week’s only staged challenge requires players to land at five different named locations. This means that players must head here once they jump out of the Battle Bus, and visiting these areas later in the match won’t count towards the completion of the challenge, with each stage required to be finished in order.

The stages are:

  • Stage 1/5: Land at Paradise Palms – One Battle Star
  • Stage 2/5: Land at Neo Tilted – One Battle Star
  • Stage 3/5: Land at Mega Mall – One Battle Star
  • Stage 4/5: Land at Pleasant Park – One Battle Star
  • Stage 5/5: Land at Junk Junction – One Battle Star

Use a Volcano Vent, Air Vent and a Zipline in a single match – 10 Battle Stars

The easiest way to complete this challenge is to head to the Pressure Pit area of the map, as this is where the most Volcano Vents and Ziplines are. Players only have to use each one once, so keep an eye out for them as you travel around and quickly use one as you find it.

Perform five eliminations outside of named locations – 10 Battle Stars

A twist on a classic Fortnite challenge, players must find five kills when they are outside of a named location. This means that any elimination you find in an area that is mentioned by name on the game’s map will not count towards this challenge.

The easiest way to complete this challenge is to stay close to the edge of the storm, and try to catch people who are rotating away from named locations as they attempt to survive.
