New Fortnite Map

The new Fortnite map is a large departure from the original Fortnite map. It’s split into a number of islands, including a sandy area in the northwest corner of the map, and an island sitting in the middle of a lake at the center of the map.

There are some snowy mountains in the southeast, while a marshy area appears to cover the southwest corner, reminiscent of Moisty Mire, which was part of the original map for the game.

Retail Row

Retail Row has also returned, with Epic Games bringing it back after it was one of many locations affected by Rift Zones in Season 10. Players will be glad to hear that the location is no longer overrun by hordes of zombies, which means you’ll only have to worry about battling opponents and not the undead the next time you land there.

Epic GamesRetail Row is now zombie-free in Chapter 2.

Salty Springs

Salty Springs is back, too, joining Pleasant Park as one of only two locations that will appear in all 11 seasons of the game.

Epic GamesSalty Springs has appeared in all 11 Fortnite seasons.

Power Plant

New to Fortnite Chapter 2 is Power Plant, a massive location in the northeast corner of the map, with two massive cooling towers rising high into the air above the island.

The Power Plant appears to be pumping some sort of liquid into the rivers, but what the substance is that is draining into the water remains unclear, although it appears to be linked to Kevin the Cube.

Epic GamesPower Plant’s cooling towers sit high above the landscape.

Frenzy Farm

Farms have been a staple of the popular battle royale title, with Anarchy Acres and Fatal Fields both appearing in Chapter 1. Now Frenzy Farm continues the mantle heading into Chapter 2.

Epic GamesFrenzy Farm is home to lots of crops, while the barns are full of loot.

Weeping Woods

Many hold fond memories of Moisty Mire from Chapter 1, and the presence of a forest is confirmed for Chapter 2, with Weeping Woods introduced in the new update.

It’s not just trees around here though, as a tower stands tall above the treeline, and there are a number of buildings in a clearing near the middle, giving cover and some loot to those who wander into the woods.

Epic GamesWeeping Woods covers a significant portion of the southeastern corner of the map.

Dirty Docks

Boats play a major part in Fortnite Chapter 2, so it’s no surprise that Epic Games have added a new location where players can find and leave their boats named Dirty Docks.

Cranes tower above this location, and shipping containers full of loot are sure to make this an area worth landing at.

Epic GamesThe Docks are home to cranes and shipping containers.

Lazy Lake

Right on the edge of the river is Lazy Lake, a town with plenty of buildings for players to explore, and easy access to the rest of the map via the boats that are parked there.

Epic GamesSweaty Sands sits beside the beach in the northeast corner of the map.

Slurpy Swamp

Ever wondered where Slurp Juice is made? It appears we finally have the answer, as the factory sits in the marshy land behind Weeping Woods, pumping out Shields and potions for all those combat-weary players who need to top up their health points.

Epic GamesSlurpy Swamp is where all the Slurp Juice potions are created.

Claggy Cliffs

Don’t go too close to the edge at Claggy Cliffs, as one of the location’s buildings juts out of the rock, leaving a steep drop for anyone who takes the plunge down to the beach below.

Epic GamesClaggy Cliffs has a steep drop if you step off the main building’s balcony.

Risky Reels

Risky Reels is back in Chapter 2, sitting just east of Frenzy Fields. The drive-in cinema disappeared back in Season 7 and was replaced by The Block, but with the move to a new map, you can now visit the location once again and harvest some metal from the abundance of vehicles that are parked there.

Epic GamesRisky Reels has returned after three seasons.
