How to complete FIFA 20 Mid Icon Upgrade SBC – solutions, cost, end date

EA Sports have released a new Mid Icon Upgrade SBC in FIFA 20 Ultimate Team (FUT), and we’ve got the overall cost, cheapest solutions, and everything else you need to know to complete it.
Icons are among the most powerful types of cards in FIFA 20, but with how expensive the good ones are, they can be hard for the average player to afford for their squad.
Luckily, EA have made a conscious effort to increase their availability within FUT, and this new Mid Icon Upgrade SBC, released on March 20, is the latest phase of that.

This challenge is available in the SBC menu of FUT, right before the Jari Litmanen and the rest of the third Swaps set.

From the start, it was made available for 27 days, meaning that it will expire on Wednesday, April 16. However, it’s important to note that this is repeatable, so you can go for it as many times as you can handle.
Your reward? You will get the second-tier version of any of these Icons, chosen randomly, so there’s the chance you can get someone huge.

Cheapest solutions and total cost
This is not a cheap SBC to complete by any stretch of the imagination, especially if you don’t have too many high-rated cards in your club to plug in straightaway.
FIFA database website ‘FUTBIN’ estimates that the current cost for this is 629,000 on PS4, 524,000 on Xbox One, and 514,000 on Origin.
Here is the current cheapest solution for the first 85-rated squad portion, which costs about 93,800 on PS4, 99,850 on Xbox One, and 93,400 on Origin.

Here is the current cheapest solution for the second 85-rated squad portion, which costs about 98,800 on PS4, 106,200 on Xbox One, and 98,100 on Origin.

Last, but certainly not least, here is the current cheapest solution for the 88-rated squad portion, which costs about 413,650 on PS4, 365,300 on Xbox One, and 397,300 on Origin.

None of these solutions require any position change cards or extra loyalty, so you’ll be able to plug in their stock versions right into the SBC.
Keep in mind, of course, that the FUT market is always volatile and prices of cards often fluctuate, so the cost to build these specific squads could change over time.

Is this Mid Icon Upgrade SBC worth doing?
With these Icon SBCs, it’s often a balancing act when trying to decide if they’re worth plugging in the coins or not. Dreams of getting a Gullit or Ronaldo often result in a Trezeguet or Nakata, so don’t go into it expecting a top-tier card.

Our recommendation is to first try the Prime Icon pack you get via the Icon Swaps, which costs nine tokens and is not hard or too time-consuming to get. What you get through that will help clarify the decision of whether you should do this SBC.
However, if you have a lot of high-rated cards in your club that are untradeable and you’re never going to use, you might as well roll the dice, especially if you can lower the cost by half or more.
