The buildup to FIFA 20 is now officially underway, with the new FIFA Street VOLTA trailer being revealed today (June 8, 2019). The annual EA PLAY event at the Hollywood Palladium, in Los Angeles, California, is also scheduled to kick off at 7pm (UK time). We have embedded a full livestream of the event below.
With many disappointments throughout the course of FIFA 19, such as content mishaps, server outages and broken gameplay mechanics, FIFA 20 is arguably one of, if not the most important title releases since the series began. Many lifelong fans of the football franchise are at their wits' end and looking for a complete overhaul of the world's game.
With lots more content and details to be revealed over the summer, we can already see that EA SPORTS are attempting to take FIFA 20 in a new direction. The beloved classic FIFA Street game mode, now called VOLTA, has already been confirmed for this year's game. Users will be able to create their own unique characters and take to the streets online.
The official release date for FIFA 20 is set for Friday, September 27, 2019. Fans with EA Access (now also available on PS4) will be able to play from Thursday, September 19, 2019.
FIFA 20 VOLTA will allow users to create and customise their own unique in-game avatars. Choose between a male or female character and create your own personal style, with a range of clothing, hairstyles, tattoos, and in-game celebratory emotes. Unlock more items as you progress through various challenges.
Showcase your skills at different football playgrounds across the world. Experience VOLTA football at an underpass in Amsterdam, a neighbourhood cage in London, as well as a high-rise rooftop in Tokyo. Again, more "stadiums" will become available the further you progress.
Select team sizes from 3v3 Rush (No GK’s), 4v4, 4v4 Rush, 5v5, and Professional Futsal. In order to scale and facilitate this, VOLTA provides different arena sizes and environments (with and without walls), offering you the freedom to play the beautiful game in a way which suits you.
Create and improve your own squad in VOLTA World, control your own customised avatar through the VOLTA Story Mode, test your skills against other users as you compete in Promotion and Relegation in the online VOLTA League, or play with your favourite professional teams in VOLTA Kick-Off mode.
More details regarding content such as FIFA 20 Ultimate Team (FUT 20), Career Mode, and Pro Clubs, will be released throughout the summer. Are you excited for this next instalment in the FIFA series? We welcome you to get in touch with us via Twitter and share your thoughts.
