EA reveal replacement for canceled TOTW 27 in FIFA 20 Ultimate Team

EA SPORTS have revealed that, due to the ongoing global crisis causing a stoppage in football leagues across the world, they will be replacing Team of the Week 27 with something new to keep a new range of content coming to players.

The global-scale issue has prevented every major sports league in the world to continue operations, with many on suspended schedules while they attempt to figure out the best solution.

Of course, this means that with the likes of the Premier League, Bundesliga and La Liga all out of action, FIFA Ultimate Team players were left wondering what would be done about the weekly Team of the Week cards.

Now, EA Sports has revealed what they will be doing to fill in the TOTW27 void – announcing Team of The Week Moments.

In their blog post on March 18, EA described as TOTW Moments as “a recurring program that will be based entirely on a historical TOTW release from past FUT titles.”

It goes on to say: “All players that will be released will reflect their current teams, and their OVR increase will be in line with their FUT 20 upgrade path,” and used the example of Kyle Walker, who’s 86-rated card from FUT 18 TOTW 28 will be upgraded to 87-rated for this first TOTW Moments iteration.

This change will continue each week until the regular football seasons resume – though it’s not clear which or how many leagues will need to resume to go back to the standard TOTW format.

It’s not clear how exactly they decide which former TOTW will be getting upgrades – be it from that exact week in different years, or entirely random – but it’s interesting to bring former in-form players back and see how they do in FUT 20.
