Brighton’s Neal Maupay has his FIFA 20 Ultimate Team revealed

Brighton and Hove Albion’s Neal Maupay has had his FIFA 20 Ultimate Team starting lineup revealed but is there a place for his one-of-a-king 99-rated card?

Anyone who has kept a keen eye on English football for a few years now will know of the exploits of Neal Maupay. The former Brentford United striker grabbed 41 goals in two seasons with the Bees before making the step up to the Premier League with Brighton and Hove Albion.

The Frenchmen quickly adjusted to life in the top division with a winning goal against Watford on his debut. Though he hasn’t quite been on fire since the midpoint of the season, he, like many other professionals from around the globe, has got a 99-rated special card from EA SPORTS. As a result, he’s been able to build up a pretty sweet Ultimate Team, but it is a bit different from the rest.

The 23-year old’s team was posted to the FIFA subreddit by user Vellender2, showing that like other pros, he’s got plenty of icon cards kicking about. However, his own 99-rated card doesn’t make it into the starting line-up.

Instead, the Brighton forward has chosen to link up the two Ronaldo’s – Ronaldo Nazario and Cristiano Ronaldo – in an absolute dream strike partnership. To make it even deadlier, the namesakes are supported by Portuguese legend Eusebio and Paris Saint-Germain’s Kylian Mbappe on the wings.

Neal Maupay’s FIFA 20 Ultimate Team Starting XI

  • GK: Lev Yashin – 91
  • LB: Andy Robertson – 94
  • RB: Carlos Alberto Torres – 90
  • CB: Raphael Varane – 89
  • CB: Virgil Van Dijk – 99
  • CM: Zinedine Zidane – 97
  • CM: Ruud Gullit – 94
  • CAM: Eusebio – 93
  • CAM: Kylian Mbappe – 98
  • ST: Ronaldo – 97
  • ST: Cristiano Ronaldo – 99

Unlike other pros, Maupay hasn’t chosen to go all-in with icon cards, with the 89-rated Varane being a spot that he could upgrade on pretty easily.

Why the Frenchman has opted to keep himself on the bench is a question that only he can answer, but, it might just be the best substitute option available in FIFA 20 when you’re in need of a goal or two.
