Even as recent FIFA 23 Ultimate Team changes weaken cards with the specific AcceleRATE trait, many fans want lengthy players for their strength and ability to retain possession. Here are the best lengthy players, for all price ranges.

For the first time in the series’ history, FIFA 23 introduced a host of running styles for players in Ultimate Team. The AcceleRATE feature splits players into three categories depending on body composition and in-game statistics.

While the default body type is ‘controlled’, some smaller and more nimble players are ‘explosive’, meaning they accelerate rapidly and possess very strong agility.

The rest, generally taller and stronger, are known as ‘lengthy’.

FIFA 23 ‘lengthy’ AcceleRATE trait explained

Lengthy players are tall and strong, difficult to dispossess and tackle. They do not have the best acceleration but are able to sprint faster and for longer than their ‘controlled’ or ‘explosive’ counterparts.

They must meet the following criteria:

  • Strength >= 65
  • (Strength – Agility) >= 14
  • Acceleration >= 55
  • Height >= 174 cm (~ 5’9”)

Erling Haaland is the quintessential ‘lengthy’ player in FIFA 23.

As is the case with other AcceleRATE categories, the correct chemistry style can make a player adopt a certain running style.

To make players lengthy, the most reliable chemistry style to use is Architect, because it can offer a boost of +15 to players’ strength.
