Popular YouTuber Jamie Nyland has decided to end his three-year relationship with girlfriend Sydney Worgan, which he explained in an emotionally-charged video uploaded on January 2.

Nyland, a well-known content creator on the site with over 47k subscribers, delivered the unexpected news to his audience in the New Year.

According to Nyland, he and Sydney parted ways after he received a job offer from his family in America — a development that would make their once-close affair a long-distance relationship, which he claimed: “just wouldn’t work.”

itssydneyworgan, InstagramYouTubers and TikTokers Jamie Nyland and Sydney Worgan have parted ways after over three years of dating.

“Obviously, this is a really hard decision,” Nyland explained. “It’s not something I’ve just said yes to. However, you know, sometimes in life things just come up, and you’ve gotta just think about everything.”

Nyland explained that he and Sydney reached the decision mutually, preferring to end their romance now rather than losing the spark after being nigh inseparable.

“We’re scared that if I do go over to America, and I do take this job, that we would effectively fall out of love like we would lose the connection,” he continued. “That’s not something we want to do. We don’t want to lose our connection.”

Nyland was prompted to upload his explanation after posting a concerning video to TikTok, which featured affectionate footage of the couple paired with Boyce Avenue’s “A Thousand Years.”

“I will always love you, even though we are over,” Nyland captioned the footage. “I love you Sydney.”

Sydney likewise posted a TikTok reacting to the split, which showed the content creator tearfully looking at the camera against Noah Cyrus’s song “July.”

“Me and my boyfriend have broken up after four years,” Sydney wrote. “I will explain in a video tomorrow. Thank you for the support.” Nyland has since clarified to Dexerto that their relationship had lasted exactly three-years and three-months, before ending at the start of 2020.

While Sydney has yet to upload her YouTube video on the subject, their split comes as quite a shock to fans, considering that Nyland uploaded a video just a week prior asking her if she’d wanted to start a family together.

For now, it seems that the couple has parted ways for good — a move that has skyrocketed Nyland’s video to the top of YouTube’s trending page in wake of their unexpected breakup.
