When will PewDiePie hit 100 million YouTube subscribers? Star reaches major milestone

Felix ‘PewDiePie’ Kjellberg's long-standing battle with T-Series for YouTube’s top spot may finally be over, but how close is the Swede to breaking past 100 million subscribers?

For the better part of a year, PewDiePie had been locked in a battle for YouTube supremacy with T-Series, as the pair traded the top spot on a daily basis at one point. While the popular YouTuber dominated the standings for so long, he couldn’t hold off the Bollywood production company as they finally took a commanding lead on April 23

Since that point, T-Series has rocketed in growth - surpassing the 100 million subscribers mark on May 29. While the war may be over, that hasn’t stopped Pewds’ growth as he marches towards the mega milestone himself.

Back on July 3, PewDiePie finally broke the 97 million subscribers milestone and has continued to grow towards the 98 million mark ever since.

According to SocialBlade, a stat-tracking website for numerous social media platforms, Pewds was then expected to eclipse the absurd 100 million subscribers milestone on Thursday, July 4 by a few hundred thousand viewers.

That hasn’t been the case and his wait continues, although it shouldn’t be too long of a wait. As of the time of writing, the Swede is less than three million subscribers away from the massive 100 million mark and should hit that point sooner rather than later as fans continue to support his channel.

PewDiePie had been expected to break the 100 million mark by now.

Similar to the constant battle with T-Series, the live tracking of subscribers has been given its own YouTube stream so fans can watch their favorite YouTuber reach the milestone in real time.

Of course, they will have to watch on with envy as the stats of the Bollywood production company are also still being tracked - as they hold a seven million subscriber lead.

It remains to be seen if SocialBlade’s projection will be correct, or if PewDiePie’s resurging growth will slow down as viewers try their best to become that lucky 100 millionth subscriber in order to claim some sort of recognition.

Despite that, he’s clearly way on his way to claiming the amazing achievement through his own lengthy hard work.
