Twitch streamer LosPollosTV sets new world record for longest livestream
LosPollosTV - TwitterThere’s a new record-holder it the world of livestreaming, as Twitch personality Louis ‘LosPollosTV’ Sammartino’s 161+ hour broadcast is now the longest uninterrupted stream on any platform.
With so many people forced to stay indoors during the current global health crisis, LosPollos decided to do a ‘sub-a-thon’ on his Twitch channel, committing to extend his stream by two minutes for every subscription he received.
The broadcast began on March 29, but as his number of subs began to rise, it quickly became clear that the stream would end up lasting a lot longer than he’d intended.

According to Guinness World Records, the record for the longest-ever uninterrupted livestream belonged to Hulu, whose social team and special guests had orchestrated a broadcast that lasted for 161 hours, 11 minutes, and 32 seconds back in May of 2019.
As Louis hit triple digits on April 3, that milestone was suddenly within reach, and when he began exploring the possibility of chasing it, his viewers began to pump in subscriptions even more feverishly than before.
On April 5, the streamer finally surpassed that mark, but that wasn’t the end of his journey. Because of an agreement he’d made with his viewers, upon hitting 10,000 subs, he committed to going for an additional 40 hours until he hit 200, which, at the time of writing, is still going on.

Immediately upon hitting the record, LosPollos opened up a bottle of champagne with his brother and father, raising a glass to toast not only his achievement but also everyone that was involved in helping him reach it.
“World record, the world record, bro!” he exclaimed. “We got Guinness people already lined up. It’s the world record, you all witnessed it!”
Not only did Louis’ exploits thrust his name into the livestreaming record books, but it also earned him a reply from TikTok star Addison Rae, who offered him congratulations on Twitter as he was about to hit 10,000 subscriptions.

It must be mentioned that Louis could not have achieved this feat without the help of his family, who he had driven across the country to be with during these times of confusion and uncertainty.
Both his brother and father filled in for short spells so that he could take naps and stay energized for the stream. Not only did they do an admirable job in his stead, but they also produced some of the funnier moments, and viewers will be sure to ask for them again in future broadcasts.
“Shout out to them, not possible without them,” he said upon hitting the milestone. “Shout out to everyone in the chat, not possible without you and everyone subbing.”
Who is LosPollosTV?
Known as a tournament-winning competitor in the NBA 2K franchise, LosPollos first began creating content in 2015, putting out both gaming and IRL videos, including 1v1 basketball challenges, pranks, and Q&A sessions.
He joined Luminosity Gaming back in July of 2018 and has since established himself as one of the top late-night streamers on Twitch, boasting over 400,000 followers and 166,000 hours watched daily.
He currently streams mostly Fortnite, NBA 2K20, Uno, and Call of Duty, including competing in YouTuber Daniel ‘KEEMSTAR’ Keem’s weekly Warzone Wednesdays tournament series with top FIFA streamers Castro_1021 and Bateson87.
As for what lays ahead, with the NBA currently on hiatus, he plans to work with the Brooklyn Nets to create content across their Twitch and social media channels.
