Thanks to Twitch’s status as one of the net’s most popular livestreaming platforms, it comes as no surprise that the site provides viewers with a near-constant flood of hilarious and unexpected content - some of which is ultimately ban-worthy.

Plenty of Twitch streamers have found themselves temporarily banned from the platform after engaging in unsavory activity during their broadcasts, with some being punished for nudity, racist language, or, in some cases, even possible drug use.

One such streamer has likewise been booted from the site, although the official reason for her ban isn’t clear - but many commenters are attributing the punishment to her blatant drug use during a June livestream, as well as her provocative behavior during the offending broadcast.

Twitch streamer ‘upsetbuttercupirl’ has been banned from Twitch, after ripping shots from a massive bong during a live stream and dancing provocatively with another female friend - all while wearing a blatantly transparent crop top.

While many viewers attributed buttercupirl’s ban to smoking marijuana on stream, others noted that Twitch allows streamed drug use, if the streamer lives in a state where recreational marijuana is legalized.

Others pointed out that the ban could equally have resulted from buttercupirl’s crop top, which may have breached community guidelines due to nudity - although no statement has yet been released from the streamer, nor Twitch, as to the reason for her absence.

Commenters argued whether the streamer had been banned for using drugs or for wearing a see-through crop top during her broadcast.

Regardless of the reason, it isn’t surprising that buttercupirl received a ban for her provocative live broadcast - but she isn’t the only streamer making waves due to her ban, with another popular IRL streamer announcing his own hiatus from the site just a day beforehand.

Twitch personality Mitch Jones received a week-long ban from Twitch after looking at his phone while driving, which he admitted in a Tweet on June 21, claiming that he “completely agreed” with his punishment.

Twitch’s stance on bans continues to stir controversy across the net, with streamers like Alinity Divine lashing out at the platform after being baited into streaming porn in late May.

Upsetbuttercupirl has yet to be reinstated as of June 22, and the length of her ban has yet to be determined as of the publication of this article.
