Popular Twitch streamer Kaitlyn ‘Amouranth’ Siragusa has hit back at critics who take shots at her broadcasts and how she chooses to dress during them.

Amouranth is one of the most viewed IRL streamers on Twitch with a loyal following who tune into her daily streams. She has amassed just shy of 1,000,000 followers but to some, she is a controversial figure.

The streamer often pushes the boundaries of what the livestreaming platform allows with streams where she wears a small amount of clothing while playing a game that forces her to be active such as Just Dance or broadcasting a workout live from the gym.

During her stream on March 17, the streamer was quick to point out the hypocrisy of the comments cast by viewers when watching a stream on Twitch, compared to watching mainstream entertainment like a TV show or a newly-released movie.

In between performances of Just Dance, she said: “Don’t you love the logic when people are like – put some clothes on, kids are watching. I’m like, first of all, have you seen Barbie outfits? Way less than what I got on. Second of all, you don’t go to an R-rated television programme and tell them to put clothes on or a PG-13 one ever.”

Amouranth added: “You don’t go into a movie theater and shout at the screen put clothes on because there are age restrictions – just like there are on this channel. So, if kids are watching, whose fault is that? I would say the parents.”

However, the streamer wasn’t finished there. She continued to fire back at the critics by stating “clothes aren’t the problem” and that adults are the ones who are “iffy about bodies” because “kids don’t care.”

While the critics may be vocal, it doesn’t seem like they’ll be able to deter her from streaming in her usual fashion.

They may not like the fact that the streamer somewhat skirts the rules but seeing as she hasn’t been banned and has been allowed to continue broadcasting on the platform, it seems Twitch is fine with her too.
