Tana Mongeau under fire for excessive photoshop edits

YouTube star Tana Mongeau walked the red carpet at the 2019 Peoples’ Choice Awards on November 10 – but some fans aren’t so sure it’s actually her in certain photos of the event.

More specifically, critics are calling out the MTV starlet for extreme photoshopping, as seen in an Instagram photo she posted on November 12.

While other photos taken at the Awards show the star as she normally looks, this photo shows a dramatically slimmer jawline, pointed chin, and bigger lips and eyes for Mongeau – a fact that fans were quick to point out.

“I love her, but she should be showing how it’s okay to be yourself,” one Instagram commenter wrote.

“Your wax figure looks good here,” another fan jabbed.

Fans weren’t impressed with Mongeau’s seemingly extreme photoshop edits.

“Um wtf, why did you photoshop and facetune this pic?” a fan asked of another photo of the star. “You looked different in the original one.”

While Mongeau has yet to respond to the backlash, this wouldn’t be the first time she’s come under fire for extreme photoshop: in fact, the internet star was at the center of similar controversy in late January, after fans noticed significant differences in a photo she posted on the beach vs a video taken at the same locale.

The YouTuber was even called out by her ex-girlfriend, former Disney star Bella Thorne, who mentioned Mongeau during a rant on the widespread trend of editing one’s photos for likes.

“…with Instagram, they should really snap-down – sorry Tana, on FaceTune – and Photoshop,” Thorne said on an episode of Logan Paul’s “imPaulsive” podcast.

Mongeau took the jab in stride, giving a good-natured laugh from where she sat in the recording studio in spite of Thorne’s pointed comment.

However, it doesn’t look like the backlash surrounding her latest photoshop scandal is dying down anytime soon. With both the Awards and KSI vs Logan Paul 2 in the books, the YouTuber claims that she’s looking forward to rest and respite with her new hubby for the holiday season.
