Popular Twitch streamer Imane ‘Pokimane’ Anys believes the real reason that Alinity Divine was banned from the platform was due to multiple offenses in her controversial past, rather than recently accidentally showing porn.
Alinity was banned after being caught by a new trend on Twitch, where mystery accounts are broadcasting pornography before hosting a top streamer with whatever amount of viewers they manage to amass.
Subsequently, Alinity was eager to check out the channel who sent her almost 2,000 new viewers and was shocked to see the NSFW images appear on her broadcast – leading to a three-day suspension from streaming.
The streamer hit back at Twitch on Twitter stating the content should be have been aired in the first place, but fellow streamer Felix ‘xQc’ Lengyel feels she should take more responsibility for her actions.
Now, Pokimane has revealed she doesn’t like comparing bans on Twitch as they take into account previous offenses which may have impacted Alinity’s ban.
“I’m tired of people comparing Twitch bans,” she said. “Twitch takes into account the things you’ve done in the past.
“Maybe Twitch looked at Alinity’s folder and thought ‘This is getting a little big’ and then decided to ban her now.”
The 23-year-old was accused of defending Alinity, but refuted the claims, stating she believed there “were plenty of things” she should have been banned for in the past.
However, she also hit out at Twitch over the timing of her latest suspension.
She said: “Maybe Twitch were looking at those things and thought not now, not now – and then thought let’s ban her now.
“It was not the right time to ban her now. But I don’t think it’s the only reason.”
Given Alinity’s ban is almost completed, it’s unlikely that any further action will be taken on her account as a result of her latest blunder.
Nevertheless, she might want to be more careful in the future or Twitch could be forced to seek a more serious punishment.
