Pokimane calls out fan for “thicc” comment after IRL meetup

Twitch star and internet personality Imane “Pokimane” Anys is no stranger to being labeled as “thicc” online — but one fan took the comment a bit too far after meeting up with her in real life.

Pokimane is one of Twitch’s top broadcasters, boasting more than 3.8 million followers due to her popular gaming live streams and hilarious interactions with fans.

However, the star is also known for a specific term that is often linked with her in Google searches: namely “thicc,” which denotes a curvy figure.

While she has addressed the topic before, appearing to find the connotation somewhat humorous, she couldn’t help but roll her eyes at a fan who recoginzed her while she was shopping at a mall.

According to Pokimane, the fan asked for a photo, which he then posted to Instagram with the caption, “Just met Poki, she’s so f*cking thicc.”

Of course, the streamer couldn’t help but call out the viewer during her broadcast, claiming that she knew he was a fan of her Fortnite content and that he could have been a bit more tactful with his Instagram caption.

“Bro this one time — and I knew this was a Fortnite viewer — this guy saw me at the mall, and he was like, ‘Oh my god, are you Poki? Can we take a photo?’” she recounted. “…to be fair, I was looking pretty thicc in the picture, but like…still, you know, you could be a little nicer about it.”

As previously mentioned, this isn’t the first time Anys has spoken out about the “thicc” term: in fact, she addressed the matter during a YouTube “Google search” video in 2019, where she noted the absurd amount of fake photos that have taken rise due to her popularity.

“There’s a particular other term that is searched alongside my name,” she laughingly admitted. “The problem with this being the most searched term is that I’ve even seen some articles that think my last name is ‘Thicc.’”

No matter the case, it doesn’t look like Pokimane is outrunning the “thicc” comments anytime soon, despite being well-established in her professional streaming career.
