Popular Twitch streamer Nick ‘NICKMERCS’ Kolcheff raised over $50,000 in a single charity stream, with the money going towards the Foundation for Prader-Willi Research, shaving his hair off in the name of fundraising.

Prader-Willi syndrome is an incurable genetic disorder, affecting newborns and causing weak muscles, poor feeding and slow development. Once a child, PWS causes constant hunger which often leads to obesity and Type-2 Diabetes.

NICKMERCS cousin, Marco Kolcheff suffers from PWS and must receive constant care, from his family and caretaker.

In just over a ten hour stream, NICKMERCS hit his goal of $50,000 and then some, with various milestones along the way with forfeits he would have to complete.

Starting at $5,000, he shaved his beard and moustache, a cosplay live stream at $10,000, a makeover at $15,000, all head hair shaved at $20,000, his subscribers picking a cosplay at $25,000 and finally getting an MFAM (the name for his community) at $50,000.

Thanks to his massive following, and some big donations from fellow streamers Ninja, SypherPK and others, he topped out at $54,000 raised for the PWS charity.

Presumably he will also be getting his MFAM tattoo after hitting the top goal on the day, not to mention whatever his subscribers decide he must cosplay as.

NICKMERCS has set out to do more charity streams in the future as part of ‘The MFAM Project’, focused on issues or difficulties and issues that he, his family, or community of fans feel are important.

You can watch NICKMERCS stream daily on his Twitch channel, which has exploded in popularity over 2018, gaining over 1,600,000 followers and breaking into the top 25 most followed channels.
