American singer/songwriter Grimes announced her apparent pregnancy on January 8 to ample fanfare — but with Tesla CEO and tech billionaire Elon Musk being the father, it seems the internet’s reaction to the news is rife with memes and jokes.

Grimes heralded her condition with a sensitive photo on Instagram, which featured the singer posing naked with an image of a fetus photoshopped onto her stomach.

“I thought about censoring them [her cleavage] for a hot minute haha (this may get taken down anyway,) but the photo is much less feral without the nipples,” Grimes captioned the pic. “Plus, being knocked up is a very feral & war-like state of being. Might as well be what it is.”

Although she never outright claimed she was actually pregnant, many are taking the photo as a pregnancy announcement, with even American presidential candidate Andrew Yang congratulating Grimes and Musk on their baby.

However, others across social media are making comparisons to Hideo Kojima’s “Death Stranding” game, noting that the photoshopped fetus looks an awful lot like a BB (bridge baby).

“Ngl, I mistook the grimes pregnancy photo for death stranding fanart at first,” Bandcamp’s Zoe Camp said of the photo.

Of course, still others are making hilarious jokes regarding Grimes’ pregnancy, with even pro Melee player “Hungrybox” taking a good-humored jab at the issue.

“Grimes’ baby gonna come out speaking in Wingdings,” a fan wrote.

Another compared the Musk-Grimes baby to that of Pokemon MewTwo, showing a test-tube sculpture of the creature as seen in Japan’s Pokemon Center.

Although both Grimes and Musk have yet to come out with clarification regarding the otherwordly Instagram photo, longtime friend and fellow songwriter/rapper Azealia Banks has also sent the couple her well wishes in wake of the now-viral post.

For now, it looks like the internet is left with memery and speculation as one of the elite’s oddest couples begins a new journey — one that will likely be at the center of online humor as the pregnancy progresses.
