In a video posted Monday, Sept 10, popular Youtuber Boogie2988 gave his thoughts on the current state of the video sharing platform.

“It seems like Youtube is a on a downward turn right now. Twitch seems to be doing great,” Boogie said midway through the video.

“All kinds of gaming channels I love, some of them are quitting, some of them are going bankrupt, I don’t know what it is,” Boogie continued.

“This channel has suffered, to some extent, views are lower. I blame myself, I blame my content, I blame my consistency, I blame my whiny nature and the stupid things I’ve said on podcasts and Twitter,” he said.

Boogie doesn’t place all the blame on creators though, as he suggests this is something happening across the site.

“It is hard to not see there’s something algorithmically or Youtube-wide happening,” Boogie said. “Here’s what I will complain about, when it does seem to be site-wide, but it’s not just affecting me, it’s affecting a lot of the channels I like to watch everyday, that’s when when you’re really going to hear me complain, because I worry about so many creators that I love, so many big companies that create content that I love. I don’t know, it’s frustrating.”

“But i guess I knew that eventually the YouTube bubble would burst, I thought my personal bubble would burst long before it,” he said. “If it bursts along with YouTube, hey, that’s not a bad problem to have.”
