Twitch streamer Alinity Divine has criticized the streaming platform after she received a temporary ban, just a couple of days after she unwittingly, and very briefly, showed pornography on her broadcast.

Alinity is no stranger to controversy on Twitch, coming close on numerous occasions to being reprimanded by the streaming service. In March of this year, she faced calls to be banned after she showed her watching audience a NSFW selfie while checking for ‘butt-sweat’.

Recently though, on May 22, she accidentally showed images of porn on her stream, after visiting a channel who had recently hosted her to "check them out".

On May 24, Alinity was handed a three day ban, and lashed out at the streaming service for what she considers an injustice. “So I'm suspended for THREE days. Someone hosted me for 1700 viewers, I went to check out the stream to shout them out.. SURPRISE PORN!”

She continued: “So hey streamers, trust twitch moderation staff to monitor things and ensure porn doesn't get up to thousands of viewers?  Think again!”

Alinity is clearly unhappy with her punishment, as she argues it is Twitch's responsibility to ensure there are no channels showing the kind of explicit content she accidentally stumbled upon.

There was a mixed response on social media, with many of the streamer’s fans showing their sympathy for the streamer. However, some were less sympathetic, with one joking: “Damn, I'm sorry that it wasn't more than three days.”

Alinity also referenced the controversial ban of fellow streamer Kamet0, who was suspended because a subscriber's profile picture was NSFW.

Alinity sat at just over 850,000 followers prior to her ban.

It’s unlikely we will see any changes made to the ban, particularly given it is such a short suspension already. It seems that Alinity will just have to wait it out and be more careful upon her return.

Twitch does not comment on community guidelines violations.
