Dota 2's patch 7.22e has been released by Valve, bringing changes to multiple heroes and items just a month before the start of The International 2019.

Valve have announced a new balance patch with just a month to go until Dota 2’s biggest tournament of the year, TI9. The patch features changes to over 35 different heroes, as well as small item adjustments and a change to low ground miss chance. 

The biggest changes of the patch are various buffs and nerfs to a variety of heroes. Some of the most popular heroes have received slight nerfs or adjustments, while less popular heroes have been buffed. The community seems most saddened by yet another Dark Seer nerf – a hero that has been now nerfed four times in the last five patches.

Centaur Warrunner and Ember Spirit hit with major nerfs

These changes are certain to affect the picks and bans of all the professional teams. Multiple adjustments such as a vastly increased cooldown to Centaur Warrunner's Hoof Stomp and an increase to Mirana’s intelligence and Sacred Arrow damage will make everyone think twice about which heroes are worth using. 

Ember Spirit also received a very impactful change, with Sleight of Fist no longer being usable while rooted. This ability was previously used to avoid damage while rooted, so this change could have a big impact on Ember Spirit’s playstyle, and could even make players avoid the hero altogether.

Other popular heroes like Morphling, Ancient Apparition, Sven, and Grimstroke received slight stat reductions and ability adjustments. While this isn’t enough to make a huge difference for the hero's playstyles, it does mean the less popular heroes will have a slightly better time dealing with them. 

Finally, minor item changes like a reduction of Maelstrom’s Chain Lightning damage and Stout Shield no longer stacking may slightly shake things up when it comes to hero builds, especially in the early game where Stout Shield is most prevalent.
