Day Two of the European Championship Series Season 5 Finals has concluded and the bracket for the final day has been set.

Astralis and NRG cruised through day one, finishing with a +13 and +20 round difference respectively over their two fixtures to earn a place in the semi-finals on day one. This left six teams to battle it out for a place in Sunday’s single elimination slug-fest on day two.

Going into Saturday, Fnatic got off to a winning start, eliminating Cloud9, despite losing the first map in the contest. In the final game of Group A, Fnatic faced off against Liquid but came up short, losing 16-5 and 16-13 on Nuke and Inferno respectively, meaning the Swedes would also be eliminated from the tournament.

Group B started with the elimination of Luminosity, who’d previously suffered a 16-1 hammering by FaZe on day one. This set up a showdown between FaZe and G2 for a place in the Bracket. FaZe never really looked under too much pressure against the Frenchmen, defeating them 2-0 generally comfortable maps, despite a late G2 resurgence.

This meant Liquid and FaZe would join Astralis and NRG in Sunday’s Single Elimination Bracket.

Sunday’s fixtures are as follows:

  • NRG Esports vs. Team Liquid
  • Astralis vs. FaZe Clan
