  • The Danish team of Astralis came into the tournament with their heads held high following a convincing win at the ESL Pro League playoffs in May.

Placed into Group A at the ECS S5 live finals, Astralis pulled off an impressive comeback against Cloud9 in their first matchup, winning 16-13 on Inferno.

Advancing through to the Group A winner bracket matchup, they faced off against Team Liquid after they’d taken down Fnatic in their first game.

What was meant to be a close game turned out to be something of a riot, with Astralis taking a commanding first-half lead 13-2.

Team Liquid attempted to mount the comeback but ultimately Astralis proved too strong, finishing out the game 16-6

Astralis now advance through to Sunday’s playoff semi-final, where they’ll meet the runners-up of Group B. Team Liquid will face the winner of Cloud9 and Fnatic to conclude Group A.
